Summary
“I know children
have accidents but you wonder how a child can choke to death.” This is what a
mother said after a terrible accident at the Pentland Avenue School. Her son is
at the same school as where a girl, Chantelle Firth, choked to death as she was
eating a school meal. She was brought to the University Hospital of North Tees in
Stockton. Chantelle herself was a really popular girl, and everyone is
devastated according to the headteacher. The pupils, teachers and parents of
children at that school are very shocked. The police have started an
investigation to find out how this accident could have happened. Words 108

Opinion
I think this is
terrible. Such a young girl. Of course accidents happen, and this is one of
those, but still it is tragic. I wish these things to no one. The only thing I
find disturbing is that in the article a big emphasis is forced on how popular
she was. But what would happen is she wasn’t that popular, but just a shy girl
who doesn’t stand out. I think that should not be in a newspaper. It feels to
me like the children who are popular mean more than the one who aren’t. That is
a shame. Words: 100
